    I DO like the idea of a Thompson A2. I know they were disliked by most but I like their aesthetics and I think given the problems faced by Thompson his idea to try and unify components was admirable.
    In my book he is much maligned and too many histories just copy the old prejudices. Yes he had his foibles but isn't that everyone.
    My main problem is I just cannot justify the £120+ that it will prob. retail at.

    Don`t get me wrong Mandator but take a look at the price level of model trains outside the UK and you will find that £120+ is nothing for a brand new locomotive!:)
    How it`s possible for Hornby and Bachmann to sell products to such a low price level is a mystery to me:confused:

    Oh don't get me wrong the model is undoubtedly worth the money. It is just that with no model layout and several other interests I cannot justify the money spent on a loco that will just sit in a cabinet.:(
