Lydeard used to be the end to stay at,but all the pubs have declined in recent years.

[quote="MrHillingdon" Apart from Williton which is a small town/large village the rest of the places are small villages or hamlets. Minehead it is then![/quote]

Watchet is a town too, you know. I've no idea what any of them are like these days, but there's a few pubs and plenty of B&Bs.

Decided, Minehead will be my base for this event. Does the WSR do lineside passes for special events? If so how much?

I know it might be a year away but any decisions of the dates for this event?

    Jeff

  10. See http://www.wsr.org.uk/photographers.htm for question 1; and sorry I'm not sure about dates for 2010, but maybe Keith (Speller) does?

Maybe the WSR could offer to try and fix 73096 for the gala, and then maybe keep it on the line for a couple of months? Would be nice to see it running again, especially at the longest line's Standards Gala!

Not sure why exactly they would do this?
Ok, she is the only Standard 5 in green, but there are two others in operation at the moment. 73129 seemed very popular when she visited a couple of years back? And it would make a nice change to see 73050 somewhere different, though i have a feeling her visiting the WSR could be unlikely. So if any 5 will visit i would think the most likely choice will be 73129.

No but it would be nice if they could do! Each railway should help each other! Still BR Standards should be a good gala! =D>

The trouble with it being a Standards Gala is we can't bring 6695. She likes galas at WSR,

Doubt 73129 will be there as she needs new tyres. Until these are purchased I can't see her leaving the MRC.
