Excellent reports by @gricerdon on the remarkable sequence of performances this winter from 45699 and crews in latest HR mag.

Anyone else spotted the Grayrigg stop today and slow progress thereafter?

All in all, a fairly good climb of Shap I’d say. Damp railhead and about 20ish passing Shap Wells. 11 on I think.

Sadly my first experience of Shap was a bit of a disappointment as my lack of knowledge of the area cost me badly. Never mind, I’m scouting the place out now!

One final Railcam location for today's train, Clitheroe. bit narrow angle but very impressive last time.
Due through at 1724 or thereabouts. Use fullscreen (angled double arrow, bottom left above select player) for best viewing and listening. It is wet at present. What a surprise...

    .... blasted through 8 early!!!

Looks wild out there today! Glad I did a 'Winskill' and stayed home to watch the footy...but that had an equally miserable result!
