What impressed me most about Timmy was that the footplate is large enough for a full sized snooker table and the whistle which should carry a government health warning...

Remember also that the Hunslet sisters were designed to haul a few slate wagons at 10mph.

I do like the Mallet though. It just looks right.

Unfortunatly, Henry not last week as I wasn't able to be there in person. If my Boss OKs my leave, hopefully in Early November it the charter goes ahead. Hope tomorrow goes well for you.

AST Remember Timmy has been overhaulled but is still essentially as built. The Ladies now have superior lubrication, oil fireing, Superheaters and Blanche has piston valves, as well as having had some kinky pipes smothed out allowing for GTI performance......not that I'm complaining.

Just found this nice video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKlCRgsLKQQ, but shame on the Editor, 19b is no replica.....

Now can we have another go, this time with the ALCo, Prince and K1 included with similar test trains.....sorry letting the gricer in me out a bit

Have three NGG16s ever worked a train together before? Either in Wales, or in their previous South African lives.

Anybody know if there are any firm plans whatsoever re: this loco? It's given such good service over the last four decades, it really would be a shame to see it languish for the next X many years.

Sandstone combined 4 together earlier this year but I gather they very rarely double headed in regular use. They did however combine forces as mid-train helpers on some of the very heavy ore trains on the Avonture line

By jove! What a super piece of film!!

My standing still type pictures aren't half as impressive and, so far, I've only had time to edit a few of them and get them on Flickr. However, if anyone is interested to have a look at the ones I've done so far, here they are :

The rest will follow in the fullness of time. Watch this space...

    Morning All,

If anyone's interested to have a look, I have recently added another dozen 'Superpower' pictures to my Flickr site. They are in the 'Stop Press!' Collection; see the Set dated 26th September :

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/train-pix/collections/72157627090322278/

This is where I put all the new additions for the first month or so. They are, however, also in the Welsh Highland Railway 2011 Superpower Set which is here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/train-pix/collections/72157627609501391/

Hope that they are of interest. Still more to be added as time permits.

    Ron Fisher.
