Is this really a wise thing to post on a public forum? I know I wouldn't in any similar situation.

And why would it be unwise to ask about the future of another WSR loco when there is all this discussion about 4110? If the GM is talking openly to volunteers about it on the ground then surely no harm in discussing on an internet forum?

4110 is very much in the public domain already. Talking about an issue with volunteers is different to publishing something in public, and I'd suggest there could well be harm. It may be fine, but as I said, I wouldn't.

The reason for the removal of Wiliton South webcam is confusing.

Does 7828 double head with 7822 anytime. Thxs

I believe it is on 25 year hire agreement with WSR providing the maintenance. All 6 driving wheels have cracks which require specialist welding. These were to be done by Riley & Son in Bury, but its all gone very quiet.

The beauty of all GWR locos is that they all look superb IMHO no matter what cosmetic condition they are in .

As this beholder was born in Bristol and has lived in Somerset and Wiltshire for most of my life , you could say I was weaned on copper and brass .

........... until someone decides that it's a good idea to decorate the boiler handrails with tinsel.

  14. Will there be a 40 year limited edition next June?

Probably not, although there might just be a new celebration beer brewed to mark the full line reopening anniversary.

There's a lot to look forward to in 2019.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

Yeah, a measly bit of tinsel is nowhere near enough bling for historical authenticity ...

I always thought they looked best in a seaside town in the South of Wales.:):)

I think I will just go out to the bomb shelter for a while.

I was referring to Odney Manor. I thought it looked rather undignified.

That one does not fit the criteria stated in the post.
It's not green and does not have a bit of shiny stuff on the chimney.
