An on-topic question: does anyone know when the 7F is leaving for the SVR gala? Presumably some time today or tomorrow?

I’d go and ask the question in “the tap room”. So I gather they’ve gone right off topic and are discussing trains over there...

    Dunster Station Sign

I indicated on Saturday that all might not be lost as far as the sign we were not successful in acquiring on Saturday was concerned.

The attached paper sets out the possibility which has arisen. My contact details are in the paper for anyone who would feel able to offer support.

    kind regards

Oh, thought he meant from WSR. That makes sense. Oh a 7F and king together. That’s grand.

Anyone please help with this enquiry on a other forum please.
“Does anyone have a telephone number for the Group, please?

I'd like to visit their depot at Williton when I'm next on the West Somerset Railway, which may be on Easter Monday, 2nd April. I'm not sure whether they're open, although their web site does say that it's not a running day.

I have sent them an e-mail via the web site but haven't received an answer yet, so given that it's quite close to the possible day when I could visit, I thought that I'd give them a ring - but I can't find a number!

    Can anyone help, please? Thanks.”

What is the history of and intended use for the FO E3063 that has just arrived at the railway?

The lorry which brought it in took away 3069 to Cranmore, East Somerset Railway, which had been at Williton for fitting of vacuum brakes and steam heat. No paintwork was done on 3069. I assume it's the same for 3063.

I would think that the restored Camping Coach at Blue Anchor station will quickly become the number one choice for
    accommodation at WSR galas.

So here's a question for GWR / B&E enthusiasts. The pattern maker would prefer rubbings of all the necessary letters. Any examples 'in the wild' or in museums that include the letters 'G' and 'M'. ?

Perhaps I’m missing something here, but what’s wrong with:

I would prefer to see the £2,300 put into re-furbing some of the wagons on the WSR (reducing the scrap yard/making something useful), if you want to make something that is not original, do it by the cheapest method & materials.

It’s a wooden replica, not entirely in correct style, including the letters.

You don’t have to contribute to the signage, and there will be plenty of opportunity to contribute to wagon restoration. An eternal Nat Pres discussion is the fact that some folks will donate for one thing and some for others.

Do compare the originals in the photos shown with the wooden replicas at Stogumber and Watchet

We are ticking along nicely towards the sum for the patterns.

Surely if a jobs worth doing, it's worth doing properly?
