Noted. The WSR PLC accounts for 2019/20/21 also carried 'material uncertainty' flags. I was making a rare excursion into this thread simply to pick up on the comment that one should look at the published accounts (by definition, for previous years) for evidence of financial stability, when they don't.

One could do the same to test whether the WSR is meeting the "investment required for infrastructure maintenance and renewal which the PLC Board estimates requires a target investment of around £500,000 per annum" (@MellishR 's point, which seems to have been lost), but that way madness lies.

I'm going to butt out again from this discussion.

It's not as if there's no-one on the WSR that knows how to do it. The month before last and previously, @Aberdare showed how with his illustrated series on Tender T2061 for 7828 Odney Manor. Is there really no-one available who can post on here once a fortnight to update how such an important appeal is getting on?

It’s actually quite funny. The appeal has been successful which I learnt from a post on this forum. from Frank Courtney -
What’s comical is that they all came together to issue a press release, yet apart from the WSRA who managed to put it on their website and Facebook page, it didn’t occur to any of them to put it on the railways website or Facebook. We must remember that they understand marketing and in the case of social media to well lol!!!

Copyright at the bottom of the page "SDR 2005-2009" so I'd guess no later than 2009

It refers to work on 3803 "which is needed in traffic for the 2006 season." so presumably 2005 !

Sorry about the SDR out of date entry gentlenen. I did not see a date othe web page.
It was good that the 4160 people and WSRA came an agreement, I read about this last year. Maybe they did not get any legal interference. ;)

That is an odd statement. If you're inferring something about @Robin Moira White 's involvement, and if I'm remembering correctly, without the campaigning of Robin (and others) it seems rather unlikely that the WSRA would have attained the 'benefit' described in the statement.

I'm assuming it's all wrapped up in NDAs, so we won't know the scale of the benefits, but it seems reasonable to assume that it's more over and above the amount originally received in return for the WSRA's shares in 4160. If that is the case, then the 'legal interference' your snipey post refers to significantly kickstarted that process to the benefit of the WSRA.

No inference to any particular person. That's a feature of NP - too many suppositions and much conjecture.

Speak plainly and you won't be misunderstood. If you are not clear then expect to be questioned. There's nothing clever about making obscure references and then refusing to explain them.

    [snipped to remove contentious bits]

I don't (of course) know the terms of the settlement and butt in to highlight as a matter of public record at Companies House. Following a resolution at a Four One Six O Limited General and Special Meeting in early 2022 the WSRA again held 28,120 association shares, consolidated into 14,060 ordinary shares.

(The WSSRT (sic) holds 5,500 shares too. As an aside, the two charities both hold shares in a locomotive not currently resident on the WSR. Must they now each from time-to-time consider whether this still meets their charitable objectives?)

Or maybe the legal intervention helped drive a settlement? I don't know, and don't expect ever to know.

What I will observe is that the 4160 website is now significantly improved, and devoid of previous bile.

Following on from this (and after the earlier we know what we are doing comments), the penny has dropped and the WSR are now looking for a full time sales and marketing manager which seems ironic but is probably needed…
