Thanks for drawing attention to the newly posted accounts. For anyone else who is interested, they are available here:

    https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/01010188/filing-history

The WSR appears (Page 36) to be paying significant sums for interest on loans, but that is probably true for most heritage railways in the Covid era. But if I've correctly understood the "loans and borrowings" section on Page 44, the largest single debt is for a bank loan used to acquire the Bishops Lydeard station house. Can anyone clarify what use is now made of that property, or what plans exist for its future use?

Thanks for that link. As a shareholder, I will no doubt get a copy in due course. It would be useful, though, if someone told the directors of the Plc that it is now possible to convert a document straight from .doc format to .pdf, there is no need to print it out, photocopy it and then scan it.

I think all the Companies House docs are like that, even electrically filed ones?

I would have expected you to have got one before now. My wife got hers by post over a week ago and I got mine a few days earlier by email.

Me too. It was an attachment to the Shareholders AGM pack, sent by email dated 3rd September.

Yes I found that, indeed, I did get it by email. I must have missed it and was waiting for something through the post. I suppose they have, quite sensibly, stopped sending information by post where it can be sent electronically.

Yes it did occur to me that Companies House might insist on documents being filed in paper format, then they make poor quality copies and scan them. If this is the case, then my apologies to the board.

Isn’t it to do with the signatures iirc?

In itself, not a great reason - with services like Docusign readily available now, or even scan and insert signatures in a PDF not being difficult, I'm struggling to think of a good reason why we should have to put up with such poor quality scans.

Certain legal documents require a proper wet signature meaning docusign and inserting signatures is not possible. (I know it sounds crazy when they scan it anyway but that is how it is).

I love the idea that a wet signature is 'proper'…

Yes, like I said sounds crazy I know, but, that is how it is. Simple electronic signatures do not meet the statutory or policy requirements for documents to be registered with HMRC for example.
IIRC you cannot sign a will electronically either as another.

though you can now take out a mortgage without a wet signature - I did it last year. Given most mortgages are probably worth more than most wills, that seems bonkers but there we are.

May or may not be of interest but the Bridgwater Mercury reports that JJP Holdings has sold (for an undisclosed figure) its half share in the bus company that services Hinkley Point C .

Read the Chairman's statement in the accounts carefully. There may be clues there, or - not.

It is easy to read much into the news shared earlier and clearly the sale of the stake will be down to business factors . At this juncture it is probably unfair on all parties to speculate what this may or may not mean for the WSR
