In the area of locomotives, perhaps, but that sub-conversation started in the area of track-p/way, where I gather the observation was accurate.

Yes with talk of spending precious money on possible legal fees over the Washford debacle!

I hope you would not encourage such a spend in preference to infrastructure spend or would you?

Fair comment. But why, oh why, the constant criticism of things we flipping well know ourselves. We spin around trying to put things right and yet some people who apparently have a lot of other things to do, seem to spend much time on this thread, carping on about the bleeding obvious. When what we want is encouragement. The strapline of this forum is "bring the heritage community together" - well that is not how it feels to this WSR supporter on this thread. It just feels like a knife in the back. You may feel like you are helping but please understand it is not. It is thoroughly depressing and hurtful. But hey, why should anyone care about the actual WSR supporters, the staff and the volunteers.

I have some topical pictures to post here, as requested. More stuff to pick holes in. Probably.

I have several reasons, Alex (flying scotsman123) puts them rather well at the top of the page, so please give me a reason why I should put my hand into my pocket?

Fair comment in return Steve! Generally speaking, I think the main reason we keep going round in circles is whenever someone comes along and tries to convince us that everything is fine, or we should just donate money, it inevitably provokes the rest of us to explain, again, why that really isn't the case and we cant/won't.

Okay then what's the truth and whats the lies?

For someone who claims not to be involved in some capacity you seem to know a lot.

    There you go again!

I don't think anyone has tried to convince you that everything is fine.

And so we go on round the ruddy circle again.

Perhaps I was being lazy when saying "everything is fine". I have in mind posts which suggest we with concerns have false information, are mistaken, that the current board is doing the best it can at a difficult time etc. It's usually what prompts me to post again - I certainly had no interest in the discussion over the past few days about all sorts of what ifs. I prefer to focus on what has already happened when it comes to concerns , which doesn't paint a pretty picture.

I know. I worked that out from your first post.

But in the spirit of the thread, and to instigate an adult conversation, I'd be interested to hear the reasoning behind your assertions that we all have things wrong.

I don't think there's any evidence that the WSR is paying for that in any way though? I think that particular affair is more a reflection on the character of the current chairman than anything else.

the comment you made about the WSR not operating trains during covid 19 as it might be used for legal costs. Railways have huge starting costs. I know a railway wouldn't start operating till it reached it covid help appeal to cover the extra cost and any loss making during the operating season 2020. Again why not support the railway and not because you don't like a person.

" Because its all in black and white" I assume you are referring to the various statements put out by the PLC, unfortunately much of those statements have been found later to have not been exactly black and white, and have been shown to be not accurate with statements that were made, statements about having full support from the other bodies, , only to find out no such support was actually given.
