For those of you who had a rough journey home on the Waterloo - Weymouth line this evening, this is the reason.

A northbound freightliner failed at about 1720 at Eastleigh with 66542 on the up fast and the rear of the train back to the otherside of Cambell Road bridge. All up line services delayed. 66536 appeared off the Romsey line just after 1800 to work the failed train forward. If anyone is interested I'll check up on TRJG for a fuller explanation on Monday.

Perhaps Freightliner do need the class 70's.

    Cheers, Neil
