Although the unfortunate demise of the Wells Harbour Railway has been prominent recently, there is a gem nearby that is well worth visiting in the 10 1/4'' Wells and Walsingham Light Railway. Built upon 4 miles of the trackbed of the old Great Eastern line from Wells to Wymondham they have the added attraction of two Garratt's! The staff were very friendly and welcoming when I visited last year: at the time they were only operating on the first two miles out of Wells but that is still a good trip and hopefully they will be able to get back to the full trip in the near future.

    Highly recommended.
