    Send a begging letter to that couple who've just won £56,000,000. In all seriousness though keep up the good work. What other initiatives are being tried to bring in the funds?

    Well my £50 has been promised to the Vulcan, it seems to be an ongoing battle to keep her in the air, but anyone who has seen her fly and heard the awsome sound produced cannot fail to be moved. Lets hope and pray that against the odds she is back wowing the crowds again this year. Dig deep if you can

    Excellent news -- saved to celebrate her 50th birthday

    the only worry is that there will no doubt be a struggle again in 2011. Enjoy her while you can.

    Great news. I look forward to seeing her at some airshows later in the year.

    I'm interested equally in steam and military aircraft so it's always a dilemma as to which events I will attend but this year I think XH558 will have to take precedence.

    Fantastic news, who ever the person is who has donated that fantastic amount of money to keep the dream alive, my heart felt thanks. My advice to anyone who hasnt seen this magnificent maxchine in action is go along this summer and see her - and if you can donate some cash to keep her up where she truely belongs.

    XH558 is now back on the ground sitting on her own legs. She may miss Waddington Airshow on 3rd & 4th July. She is limited to 30 to 40 flight time this year to reduce fatigue and preserve the airframe. No official display list has been released as yet.

    Mate of mine was at Brize Norton today as was XH558. All test flights complete satisfactorily and they are hoping to get the Permit to Fly this afternoon. Whether this will enable her to appear at the Waddington Show this weekend nobody could say at the time.

    Does anyone know if the Vulcan will be displaying at the Eastbourne Airbourne Airshow this year?

    They had made a policy of not providing a list of airshow appearances until the aircraft was operational and received her permit. So wait and see

    The RAF Waddington airshow website has just announced that XH558 will display this weekend. Usual caveats apply.

    According to the VTTS website the permit to fly has been issued by the CAA and its delivery to the aircraft is awaited.

    Not landing at Waddo but returning to Brize each day. Displaying at Goodwood festival of speed*, on Sunday also.

    * That'll wake up Chichester.
