Ben confirmed that earlier in the thread for this tour and for now but a generator car did move with the Rivera stock hence why I was wondering if it will be used sometime in the future.

Is Tyseley's own coaching stock being approved for main-line running?

Saphos/LSL had one for a while, but we all know how they operated in their 1st year of bedding in. I just reckon VT could follow suit.

Yes I agree I was thinking longer term, the deal was for 3 years so plenty of time yet.

A couple of shots of yesterday's loaded test runs. Filmed at Edstone Hall Crossing and Widney Manor. I hope you enjoy it! :)

Much as I wish VTL well I will not be booking anything until I can be sure trains will be DL free as was the case with the old company. It’s for that reason that I haven’t booked with Saphos. Sorry but my ethos is pure steam (or indeed pure diesel or electric)

That’s a shame as without your support they may not be able to realise your dream. Personally I’ll support them and wait and see what develops.

But the point is here its still steam and diesel even with the diesel ticking over on the back of the train, if we need the diesel for the eth so be it.

No, the Riveria stock is mark 1s. The Marks 2 are Vintage Trains' own.

Problem is, the purists will not accept a diesel on the back under any circumstances.

Yes that is correct as far as I am concerned. It’s a shame as I would love to support them especially as Ray Churchill will be driving many of the trips. Maybe in the future

Brand new TOC , building credibility in the rail market as a trusted operator . Take an insurance or not ? Last things IoS and VT want is an engine stood down in section causing delays . To be fair as a punter you don't want the delay either

Looking forward to the Shakespeares and resuming my travelling on them . Hopefully 7029 will make an appearance

Well there are 4 private steam operators now in the form of Saphos, West Coast, D.B.C. and Vintage Trains, at last we are stronger now for mainline steam with Adrian Shooters vintage trains joining us.

Regarding diesels on tours it's a necessary evil, we no longer live in 1967 we live in an age where things like Vac brakes and steam heat are not the norm any more.

Well I'll say this for R.T.C. last year on the Waverley run on 9th September, steam all the way from York and back without diesel assistance and even near Bingley something was blocking the lines on the outward run yet we still got to Carlisle and back OK.

Diesels are not a necessary evil. For Tyseley vacuum braked and steam heated stock was the norm and if that's changed then I'm sure it's not what we and the other Shareholders want.
