We’re off to Scarborough with VT on Saturday. Has anyone had their tickets and confirmed times yet please? I emailed Tyseley yesterday but no response so far.

Two charters at Birmingham New Street at the same time on Saturday morning, quite a rare occurrence. Both departing in the same direction as well. Statesman diesel tour leaves platform 2 at 0809 heading towards Grand Jn. VT leaves platform 9 at 0812, also heading in direction of Grand Jn.

See above and thanks to Sidmouth. No tickets but I normally print off from email booking confirmation where it says Get Tickets. Hope that works.
The coach detail and seat numbers for the SE last Sunday came through last Thursday so maybe the Scarborough details will be today

7029 passes Elford in some style with the return Vintage Trains excursion to Scarborough, thankfully running 15 early as the shadows approach the track. 7029 4 lr.jpg

Third in the series of different start points saw the Shakespeare Express originate at Leicester on Sunday

First shot at Shrewley as she eased to reverse at Hatton

Then on the Luncgtime trip at Yardley Wood rather than the planned normal route through Solihull (A Problem on the Solihull line suggested)

    Lastly at Danzey

    A few points:

    • The Mayflower Castle double header will have Tourist class leading at least one way. Book now to support these decisions
    • Sunday’s Leicester SE was booked to run down the Shakespeare Line (there were no diversions in place). Expect to see more use of this route as Henley station now has a community run micro brewery
    • The three experimental SEs starting from Derby, Worcester and Leicester were all highly successful. Expect to see more
    • 37.240 is now going back together following receipt of wheel bearings (at last), so look out for inaugural runs in Q4
    • Please all take a ride on the Shakespeare Express this summer, at least on the absolute bargain £15 return from SOA

    Thanks
