A WHR train has been in collision with a van on an open crossing in Gwynedd, say police.

The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway train was travelling from Pont Croesor to Caernarfon when the incident occurred at Ynysfor.

Doubtless the road obsessed media will make out that it is a rail accident, and not criticise the driver of the road vehicle.

The police might take a different view as the van driver left the scene before they arrived...

Either way I'm glad no one was injured and damage was slight. Hopefully the coverage of this will make drivers think twice about trying to beat the train on a level crossing.

    Regards
