Thanks for that I take it the times don't go on realtime until a day before because the times for Saturday Christmas white rose are not on

I might see it leave Ferme Park in the morning. Night shifts do have some advantages!

Summertime and a spanking sunrise would have got me out of bed for it at that time of the morning but not mid December darkness.

It's completely unpredictable, sometimes they can be on 3 weeks in advance, sometimes no more than 1 or 2 days before. Only thing you can do is to keep checking!

Don't forget 60163 comes off at Leicester and goes to York, so only an 01.06 arrival.

I believe that it was because of the new timetable, at least that is why the times for the rerouted Dalesman were not confirmed until pm Monday for the Wednesday trip.

That needs a smiley face at the end!

I am amazed that we enjoy this and other charters at the hands of people who really should be 'sitting by the fire in a pair of slippers' so to speak. But they wouldn't do it if they didn't enjoy it and what great enjoyment they bring. That said when you are on the train, every now and again you pick up the signs that maybe this is exactly what one or two of them should be doing. For another thread really but the whole business of succession on the footplate is quite a tricky one, I think. With the DBC 'youngsters', who all have their day job, it's not a problem but for everyone else it's a ticking clock.

Anyway, I hope today goes well.

Ah well, I had hoped what is probably my last main line shot of the year would be in sun. There was still some just over 15 minutes earlier when the preceding Voyager headed west.

Anyway - The A Team at Wardle !

Youngsters most of them are not. Some are my age and I would struggle to survive the trips on the footplate let alone drive or fire. They have my greatest admiration
