Don't worry no chance of a rare Crompton on the Torbay, might have the delights of a rancid duff though...

  3. I'm with you on that one! I would want to be nowhere near it!

Steady rain forecast for the Bristol, Somerset and Devon areas on Friday and Saturday.

Rain saved the day on the previous Torbay Express perhaps it will happen again. Do you remember the thunderstorms
of Saturday, 19th July? The following day was wet underfoot but we were blessed with glorious sunshine. :) <BJ>

I thank you all for praying for rain for the start week in Paignton starting this Saturday.

I will think of you all whilst laying on the beach in the drizzle ;-)

Time for a compromise. Let it rain at night and sunshine in the daytime. <BJ>

Unlikely to be a diesel on the Sunday 3 August Torbay, I gather. Just 5029.

I'll go with that, I think that's fair.

Well, with England looking like a rare Test Match victory today, then maybe it will rain very hard over Southampton. Like it does at such times. And if that rain comes from further West then some respite might be earned for the steam trip.

Being both a steam fan and a cricket fan I have rather mixed feelings at this time of year! So, I've been enjoying the cricket and trips to the Severn Valley and the Bluebell. No steam bans there!

You should be in clover. If the weather's fine you enjoy the cricket. If that's rained off you can enjoy the main line steam.

Not good news for parts of the Somerset area this morning regarding the weather. It rained for 30 minutes!!
The dog and myself were not amused as we got a good soaking. The dog sulked all the way home. :(

NB. For those without a sense of humour, the above should be taken light heartedly. ;)

    <BJ> ..... and Baxter

At least 24 hours of heavy rain is now forecast from lunchtime today for the entire route of the Torbay Express.
If the predictions are correct Nunney Castle will have the opportunity of a good run to Kingswear without the
    assistance of a diesel. <BJ>
