A good spec for photography is the footbridge adjacent to the former Bagillt station. You can see quite a distance in both directions & there is a car park at the foot of the bridge.

The point about stock is a valid one, the choc and creamm MK1 buffet currently about is absoulute disgrace, peeling paint and dirty all over, it's a piece of tat whether you are an enthusiast or not and expecting joe public to be happy at the idea in travelling in such scrap metal on wheels is insulting his intelligence.

Nice to meet you too Ralph, your driving was just fine!

Here's my photo from Holywell with 6233 making up time after a small delay from Crewe.

    Hi all,

Another photo from me, this time of the return trip seen at Saltney Ferry, at the site of the old Mold Junction engine shed.

Your video footage contains some of the highest definition images I have seen for quite some time. Well done!!
Also nice to see that the grotesque headboard that usually appears on the front of 6233 had been lost on this occasion. Pity, however, about the pi**ock who decided to park that white Transit van right in the middle of that otherwise masterful shot at Conway.

Thank you, it was a Network Rail van, the two guys from the van can be seen just by the exit portal of the tunnel by the castle in hi-viz orange. unfortunate timing maybe but they at least had a right to be there.

I just thought it might have been a British Transport Police van sent there to make sure that no linesiders were trespassing in order to do some much-needed 'gardening' on those bushes that are slowly beginning to strangle that magnificent shot from the hillside!! That's just the sort of thing they would do ... and with no consideration for the photters that they must have seen up on the hill.
I say that as their presence (and their large white transit van - with its bi-lingual BTP signage) did not go entirely un-noticed at even the remote location of Roman Bridge on the Blaenau Ffestiniog branch, just before the two Black Fives passed through a few weeks ago! (Lots of people around, but, I hasten to add, no-one nabbed for trespassing.)

I seem to remember that the tunnel, which is lined with tar, has to be inspected after the passage of a steam train - I suspect that's why the chaps in hi-viz were there.
