Whatever you think the storms have been random, there are places in Cheshire that have only seen light showers, and others with flooding.

Apparently 61994 got to really power the train instead of the diesel pushing it around.

Really? When it passed me at Blaenau Dolwyddelan, 37516 was giving it a good thorough shove on the rear. It looked and sounded as though the K4 was only there for visual/sound effect, with the 37 doing all the train-movin work.

Being there is one thing, watching a vide clip it is sometime harder to notice. Is it just me or will nr forget to lift the ban despite weather? When shall our steam engines not be used as props?

Simple record shots of 61994 on the return leg at Bagillt and either side of the Frodsham water stop:

One thing about a 37 is you can really hear it when working and it was working quite frequently from standing starts and on the climb from Betws y coed. The farce at WBQ being held for 50 minutes was that a driver 'left' his goods train blocking the line at Chester.

I watched this train , firstly on the coast near Colwyn Bay (tender first) . I then moved on to Betws y Coed , tested the station buffet, then took up position on the footbridge. The platform was pretty crowded but two idiots really stuck out - the idiot who sat on the platform edging slabs about two feet from the edge in order to get his photo , and his fellow idiot who set up his tripod at the north end of the platform, a similar distance from the edge. The train ran through at 30 m.p.h. plus with the whistle blasting. It's a shame that there was no B.T. Police presence. I have 'Idiot one' on video & it does look scary, especially for oncoming loco crew.

Well done Mike ... and here's some from the return this evening:

Should be ok now - sound was distorted on the first attempt.
