Just coming back to life after yesterdays run. Started work at 4 am. and got back to my home shortly after midnight. I'ts just as well we don't get paid.......think of the overtime. :smt101
As has already been said the weather was lousy, more like winter than early summer but Bill Andrews performance on the footplate more than made up for it, as usual his driving was superb. =D> =D> And he had his usual kind words for the efforts of us support crew. He is going to be sorely missed when he retires.
I also met RalphW, it's good to be able to put faces to names, more of you should make yourselves known when you are on board.
By the way Ralph nice footage of 'white van man' =D> it's probably a good thing the police had the evening off considering we were going at quite a lick when he was along side us. :-#
Now for the main event....the small matter of a bit of hill flattening in the north of England in two weeks time, and given decent weather [-o< and with Bill or Albert on the regulator we will put on a good show for passengers and linesiders.

The Earl looked fantastic at Llandudno Junction, but I was slightly surprised not to see the usual obligatory diesel tacked on the end. Of course, it wasn't required in the event, but I thought it was ususally included as an insurance policy.
Does this vary from tour operatour to tour operator?

The tour never went through to Holyhead, hence the stock didn't require quite as much shunting, though i suspect some operators would be more inclined to shunt with steam there if possible.

Insurance policy wise they are usually only tagged on the back if there isn't a second path for them or a suitable stabling point somewhere.

My footage from yesterday is online at Abergele and then at Llandudno Junction, all on the outward leg...

I've also uploaded one of the stills i took yesterday onto the page too...

The footage is attached to that of 60007 and the full run around sequence at Llandudno Jnc can be seen on the Part 3 DVD.

Yes nice to meet you to Salty, please pass on to the rest of the crew my thanks for a great run, pity I was only on from Crewe but 5043 and Bill put on a spledid performance. I will not repeat what my GPS logged as maximum.. :-$
The guy in the van must have been exceeding the limit by some through Colwyn Bay as the road is down to 50 along there.
Re Shap, we will see... :-# As you say Bill or Albert or for that matter any of the WCRC drivers will no doubt do there best.
I'll be at the lineside somewhere.
    Ralph.
