Thanks Ralph. Roll on the long hot summer that's been forecast -- oh no, then we'll have fire risk and no clag.

The K1 performed faultless all of the trip, a standing start from both pes at Settle Jcn on the Northbound run (due to a late runnin service trains AND NOT a problem with the loco or stock) There was a bad wheel flat I was told by the WCRC crew and they took the opertunity to inspect it.

With Mick Rawlings at the reg it was a good run to Blea Moor with 10 bogies in tow.

The Southbound run had Ron Smith at the reg and despite been stopped at the box at Kirkby to be told of sheep on the line the Accent to Ais Gill was done in fine style, with plenty of noise when it could be heard above the wet and wind.

Thoughrally enjoyed it and still admire the K1 to bits. Thanks to NELPG crews and lads for the grand day out

Records were never going to be challenged. It was just a gutsy performance from a knobby little engine in crappy weather. It's a shame that we have to drag around a barrier vehicle which cannot carry any fare paying passengers. On the return our support coach acted as the barrier. We are expendable, it seems.

There wasn't time to shunt the set, at Carlisle, as originally planned so some of the support crew had to walk to Upperby with the gear to water and service the loco.

Thanks for the kind words, I'll pass them on to those who don't see NP.

I hope you all survived safely despite the terrible dangers & risks of travelling in a Mark 1 coach at the end of a train? 8-[
