    Some more updates-

    1. Platform ramp and wall progressing

    2. More platform surfacing underway, about halfway now...

    3. Second Occcupation crossing with fencing installed.

We have also taken delivery of the new wooden mile post tops, a total of 8, (in traditional style) and they will now be painted and cast numbers added before being attached to the original posts which still remain. (The extension is just over 1.75 miles long)

Likely that the tamper machine will return in August so with a good wind the trackwork, fencing and platform should be completed by the start of September. This will leave a few jobs such as remaining S + T work, signage and a general tidy up. So we are getting closer...

    Regards

    Matt

    Update

The disabled ramp and wall at Abergwili are now almost complete, just a few small bits to do. Sorry no pics just yet.

The tamper machine is due to visit in August so we are gearing up for the last bits of trackwork.

With the platform track and fencing almost finished we are on the home straight....

    Regards

    Matt

    Update

    1. Completed fencing at Abergwili, just awaiting final platform surface

    2. Disabled Ramp complete

    3. Platform surface getting closer to ramp!

The mile post heads (all 8) are being painted into gloss white before having the numbers attached. The design of the head is original to the Carmarthen and Cardigan Railway so another little authentic detail.

Lots of odd jobs planned, final rail changes and track adjustment before the tamper visits, which is now set to be in a few weeks.

    Regards

    Matt

    Mini update-

The S and T gang have been busy installing the signal arms on the extension, for those with access to Facebook there is a video of the down home (which is motorised) being tested.

Also installed today was the down distant lamp with yellow aspect.

More works planned in the near future so updates to follow.

    Regards

    Matt

nice pictures, we are very fortunate to have this feature on the line with the award-winning GWR reproduction gates, and also having recently renewed the surface which can be seen clearly in the photo(s). The scene is complemented by the signal box and GWR signals, and we've even got plans to move the portocabin!

won't be long before passenger trains can use it....

    Regards

    Matt

On display and much more accessible than previously. Lovely Welshism whilst I was there "we have three working engines and none of them work". Now, I know what he meant....

    Update

140 tonnes of ballast (the last round!) spread on the shoulders today post-tamper. The trackwork on the extension is now all but finished, just a few minor jobs to do.

Next on the list will be anti-trespass grids for all occupation crossings, completion of the platform and completion of the fencing.

    On the home straight now...

    Regards

    Matt

    I'm impressed! :)

You guys must be well chuffed.

I've been following the progress, but just haven't felt the need to comment, until now.

This thread really needs to be renamed "The Gwilli good news thread" as that seems to be all that happens............... think about it.......................... ;)
