The Chester Model Railway Club, and the Ffestiniog Railway Dee & Mersey Group are delighted to announce our annual railtour for April 2015. Our destination is Oxford.

Our train hauled by a Class 47 diesel locomotive, starts at Hooton early morning, and we pick up passengers at Bache, Wrexham General, Gobowen & Shrewsbury.

We travel via the West Midlands & Kidderminster before setting down passengers at Worcester Shrub Hill (approx. 6 hours) before continuing our journey to our destination of Oxford. Passengers have around 4 hours to explore this wonderful city.

On returning home, we will travel via the Cotswold line through Evesham and the heart of the Cotswolds before picking up our passengers at Worcester. We arrive back into Shrewsbury mid evening, and Hooton late evening.

Each passenger will have a reserved seat, a free detailed route description, along with local plans. There will be a buffet car serving hot and cold drinks, as well as a trolley service serving light refreshments in first class. Seating in first class is in open coaches around tables of two (first come, first served) and four. Most Standard Class seats are at tables of four.

For more information, please visit our website at http://www.chestermodelrailwayclub.com/railtours.htm

And we now have our own Facebook page. Just type in Chester Model Railway Club in the search box.

Just to give a quick update on our Railtour.

Despite the hectic period leading up to Christmas, we have a substantial number of seats, and bookings are still coming in. If you wish to join us on this special day, please book now to avoid disappointment.

What I forgot to mention is that any profit that is made on our railtours, is divided between the Chester Model Railway Club, and a on-going project on the Ffestiniog Railway. Our railtour to Minehead last year saw half the profits donated to the overhaul of Welsh Pony.

Please continue to watch this thread for on-going updates, and also don't forgot our Facebook page (if you're in to that sort of thing!!)

Haven't done an update on here for a while, so best get one done.

Bookings for our railtour 'The Great Western Express', promoted by the Chester Model Railway Club and Ffestiniog Railway Dee & Mersey Group have taken a steady increase over the last month. We still have seats in both First & Standard Class. A full detailed description of our railtour can be found on our website. The link is in post #1 on this thread.

This would be an ideal day out for anyone living in the Cheshire, Wirral, Merseyside and North Wales areas. If yourself, or if you know anybody who would be interested, please share this with them. Our Facebook page now has 72 'Likes'.

    Regards
