Well at least you realise the error of your ways and happy to accept that thought. The tour is operated for the participants who paid for the tour to begin with and now't to do bystanders, photographers or who ever - they get a free show if it operates as planned or otherwise. As some have said, take it on the chin and learn from it. In the meantime, Diesel (at least same colour as Coach stock) is behind "Scot" but I'm sure the crew will attempt were possible to put on a show for participants and linesiders but at least you know (barring any other issues/problems - fingers cross) will get to their destination.

I felt the same way when I found out, but knew venting my disappointment on here, would be met by many angry villagers !

Hey you are grizzled enough at this game to know what can happen, I drove 75 miles to see the fit ready and waiting A4 leave Westbury the day the coaching stock and pax got stranded at Oxford when the brakes failed on the 47!

Wow, yes, could almost have been done with the persuing pack in mind! An hour in Carnforth loops so close to the end of the trip stands out as "unfortunate". At least when the train's standing at Crewe P12 you can stroll up the platform and look at the loco.
BTW, 46233 arrives L/E at Crewe at 12:59 on Wednesday? Is that just co-incidence?

I've accepted the situation and I'm now currently packing my stuff for tomorrow.

Nice to know someone can admit to being wrong, doesn't happen often on here. Hope your 3 days linesiding are enjoyable and not the chore you think they've turned into.:)

  12. Thank you Dave B. It has required some amendments and a bit of juggling but I'll be out there just as planned. Hoping Ian can pull off a repair in time for Weds run over the Marches. If anyone can he can!

I recall that something similar happened a while back, ironically to the same loco that is the donor for 871 - i.e. 932.

There's always the possibility that day four's itinerary could form the positioning move for the 5MTs to Edinburgh.

Yes, because there's no leeway for a loco change after Sellafield until Lockerbie. What goes on at Carnforth stays on, so that must rule out the 8F?

And they're off! RTT reports 1L departure. 46100 in the front, cl.57 on the rear, I'm told.
