For those wondering what a proper engine sounds like I understand 46115 is scheduled to work The FELLSMAN on Wednesday August 11; looks like another day by the lineside.

Just to confirm that 46115 is indeed on the Fellsman today (11 Aug), and 48151 on the Welsh Mountaineer.

Yes, she is running, last saw her this morning at Selside around 20 odd minutes down, and here's the video proof, the Beast is back! Other scenes at Hoghton Tower and Gisburn Coates.

Hi Steve, I'm looking forward to seeing me in your video, if you haven't edited it out, must say you look more sophisticated than last time, and I don't remember the hair, good to see you again.

It surprises me the lack of interest in the 8F, i personally enjoy watching ( and i have had a few runs behind her as well) her perform on the Settle and Carlisle. Perhaps folk are being a little bit spoilt at the moment with the number of steam charters over the S and C, the scarboroughs etc. In my view the bubble will burst one day and you will be glad to get the opportunity, to see and ride behind steam on the mainline - enjoy it will you have it.

The 8f is under rated by some enthusiasts, cant see why myself as it's a cracking strong loco. It's dramatic and noisy what more do people want of a loco ? I havent travelled behind her yet but will do soon.

left Lancaster on time, sounded fine past the fairfield allotments and up the bank, left it a bit late to get the camera out, was still half asleep.

I'd just love the opportunity to see the 8F doing battle with the Sugar Loaf. The Central Wales Line is one line where it has no equals, that is apart from another 8F.
