Per RTT, it is the Dalesman that is stopping at Langwathby (13.34 to 13.47 outward, 17.11 to 17.23 return). The Fellsman is shown as stopping at Lazonby outward (12.27 to 12.38) and Appleby as normal on the return.

Apparently 47237 is working the 1st leg of the Fellsman this morning, as far as Hellifield. 45231 working light from Carnforth to Hellifield where it will then take the train up the S&C?

The move from Carnforth presumably acting as a light test run for 45231 after the repairs.

So presumably if 45231 is OK it will be the usual format with steam on the front and diesel on the back to Carlisle and then all the way home.

Does that mean there's a problem with 46115? Didn't sound too good yesterday and can't see them putting a '5' on a an 11/12 coach train on it's first run in a long while.

Sounded like the LMS drain cock problem - hope that it's nothing more serious. Don't know what has been done to the black 5 but it's likely to be getting help from the diesel.

Photo on Twitter of it watering at Appleby. No diesel at the front of the train. Presume on rear.

Can anyone confirm whether they took the diesel with them?

It certainly went northbound from Hellifield with the 47 on the rear.

Cracking shots Shep on a lovely sunny day . We had a superb ride behind the 5 today even though the 47 helped at times more than it could have . Great to see Gordon back on the footplate again for the return .

Taken from my favourite spot, I couldn't make it yesterday but I still managed to see it - thanks.
