Yes certainly seems a good run. It should be a good tour with a varied route and a good amount of time in Eastleigh to have a look around. I noticed the stock is being completely turned at Eastleigh so I’m dreading another tour at the back.

I'll be out at Fleet I think to see it. After volunteering on it for over two years now I still haven't actually managed to get a decent pic of it yet. Hope to on Saturday though.

    Dreadfully slow timings to Andover.

Could get to Grately without touching 60 mph!

However I imagine there will be some good running, and also signal checks as presumably there isn't a pathway to give the train a decent fast timing that would need 75 mph running.

Unless there is a 15 minute late start from Waterloo.........

And a clear road all the way...........

I shall be at Worting Junc. Wanted to ride but son's Sports Day and a three-line whip from the missus prevented that idea. Still, we made the non VSOE trip last year. Does anybody know if it will be the green set or a motley collection of coaches?

I would think it would either be the Coronation set or the "motley collection of coaches"!

i think it is likely to be the 'Royal scot'cream and cramine coaches, and yes they did appear in the coronations 'mottly set'.

It is normally formed of 8 MK1 in the carmine and cream, supported by a couple of MK2s (in carmine and cream) and some chocolate and cream coaches.

They are all coming from riviera, who own all of those coaches, so it is likely to be whatever they bother to put together.

Does DB still have their maroon set of Mk1s?

Support coach won't match whatever the set is! (In bunker now :-# )

I believe they do though it doesn't seem to be getting around as much as it used to, hopefully been near a paintbrush being the reason why.

Just to let you chaps know, just for a change, we will not be having a diesel to tow around tomorrow! not until Southampton that is. The loco that brings the stock up from Eastleigh in the morning, will be left behind at Waterloo. Then stable at Wembley during the day until required in the evening. A second loco will be attached at 'Southampton up goods loop' prior to the last bit of the morning trip to Eastleigh. It will then haul the train round the depot loop and back out in the aftrenoon, then be detached prior to the return to London. So hopefully we might get some spirited running at some point! Its not often that Clan Line gets the chance to pull a light train around, rather than 600 tons of VSOE & 67.
She is then booked to return to Eastleigh on the rear of the stock that night, for the final two days of the open day. I'm then rostered to take her back Monday evening to the lane.

Cheers for that, Wayne. Are you able to say what time '28 leave Eastleigh on Monday evening, roughly?

Not seen my workings for Monday. All I know is I am on duty at 1810. So I would presume we would be leaving 1930 ish, give or take half an hour. I might try to get in earlier to see people at the end of the open day though.

Will get on my bike tomorrow and cycle over to Berrylands to see it in the morning. Should also see it at Ewell East in the evening. Does anyone know if its booked for the fast line from Waterloo?
