Vintage Trains are running The Cumbrian Coast Express from Birmingham to Ravenglass on Saturday May 30th, with 86259 Les Ross hauling as far as Carnforth loops, where steam will replace the sparkie. Vintage Trains' website has it listed as 48151 Gauge O Guild but I have heard that this is not expected to be ready in time and so instead 5690 Leander will be working the train.

Anybody booked to be on it? Hoping the weather will be nice for it - looks to be the only opportunity for steam around the Cumbrian Coast for this year.

just heard a steam loco arrive at Lancaster and depart a few minutes later. sounded like it arrived northbound , so I assume the elctric stopped at preston, and steam took over from there?, it was about 11.30 so running late. or was it 6233? ah yes sorry should have looked at the other times.

Just back from an overnight stay in the Lakes, so may post some vid later.
Good to meet you Austin. Went to Arnside Knott for the return shot, although suffering with the heat I didn't climb high enough to see all the viaduct. But thanks for the directions.
