I'm also seeing these messages in the "what's new" list on the forum. Don't know if this is intended.

That was not expected. I might find a better way of getting the live feed onto the forum.

They are appearing in the new posts/whats new but not as quickly in the Railtour Live section. I'm sure it will be sorted soon.

I subsribed to todays tour just before I left the house to go to Theale. Received 1 message en route saying it passed Bracknell, so seems to working ok. Just unsubscribed & received confirmation back from Natpress.

Messages from me at Ascot, Bracknell and Newbury. Seems like they worked :)

I got the Grosvenor Bank message 4 times in quick succession - the Reading and Theale messages only once.

    Now it's all gone quiet!!!!

Hopefully the next should be after 4.30, leaving Bristol.

    Aye, noticed that too.
    Then looked up the timings.
13.04 they get to Bristol Temple Meads and depart @ 16.36 So you should start to receive updates at that point...

Anyway, just to say, I'm very pleased with the system, thanks for going to the trouble.

Now we just need people to use it - come on KentYeti, we know you're there, send us a message!

He is too shocked by the excellent perfomance of a big red LMS loco, give him time to come round..:bounce:

Anyway, good to see the updates worked ok so far.

I sent the Reading & Theale messages & can confirm they were only sent once. I only received the Bracknell message once.

Just for the record all I've received on my PC is:
    09:10 AM -- climbing Grosvenor bank on time;
    10:19 AM -- arrived Ascot;
    10:30 AM -- stop.
No sign of Reading or Theale messages.
Not complaining - just providing feedback.

    On your PC?
The service is primarily an SMS text based service to your mobile phone.
The feed is an RSS feed from the same system updated every 10 minutes.
    As you looking at
    http://railways.national-preservation.com/vaispy.php
And if your your using IE, there is an issue that I am trying to fix at the moment.
I am using chrome, and I can see
10-06-2010 05:10 PM t0610a past Bath on time
10-06-2010 11:30 AM t0610a passed Newbury a few minutes early
    10-06-2010 11:00 AM t0610a through Theale 10.53.

However I am looking into it.

    Cheers

I saw the same as Chris on IE8 earlier, checked 10 mins ago with IE6 and saw the same thing. I have just checked with Firefox and I can see the same as Glyn can see on his Google Chrome.

I did see the updates within a few minutes on all operating systems by clicking new posts and they came up as Railtour Feed Bot.

All coming through on mine, using Opera. Don't understand the latest one though "5884". You should also have the 6 mins late at Reading one as well.

The last one looks like a test from "5884"

I have 6 mins late leaving Reading on Firefox as well.

Just looking round and found that when this PC was last updated it had Firefox added, not bothered to try it before, all updates appear on it?

Sorry if I've misunderstood - I thought it was also hoped to update on the forum so we knew when to go out (and then use the mobile capabilities). Thought I was helping.

You just shouldn't let an old man loose on a PC.

Chris, the Railtours Live section does update with all the incoming texts, but at the moment there is a glitch and although IE shows some, you need to use Firefox to see them all. Don't know why, it's too technical for me but I believe Glyn will work on that problem when he gets time.
There are 8 relevant entries at the moment, the last one being 'through Wokingham on time'
