I had the old girl for one of those turns in 2007, she was very tired then and very much in need of the overhaul. Good to see she's out and about again and like the livery!

Because the Swanage & Purbeck Guide is no longer published there is no longer a single point of reference when booking accommodation in our area. This trend is becoming more widespread as, I guess, a growing number of people use the web.
No recommendations but in case you want to stay in Swanage, or nearby, then a couple of sites you could try are:
Swanage & Purbeck Hospitality Association: http://www.visitswanage.com/about-spha/swanage-and-purbeck-business-directory/accommodation/all
    An independent B&B site: http://www.bedandbreakfastsearcher.co.uk/dorset/swanage.asp

Should my Euro millions come up, I think an approach to the NRM may be in order! I do like the 'Charlie' an unusual beast but always found it rather intresting.

I've always found it odd that those are referred to as Bulleid Q1s, rather than Maunsell Q1s, given that they are essentially a re-boilered Q - even the naming convention follows old Ashford practice in that regard. After all, you don't call No. 65 a Wainwright O1, it's a Stirling O1 - nor for that matter is an A1x a Marsh Terrier, it's a Stroudley Terrier with a new boiler ... ;)

OK, weird - I posted the above twice, deleted one as a duplicate and then the original disappeared and the duplicate remained. Spooly ...

Was one a Post and the second a Post1 in the Ashford style?

As C1 was built at Brighton, the second missive would have been a PostX surely. ;)

There is a bar car on the dinning train and enough room in the adjacent brake vehicle for seating.

Swanage Railway have told me that advanced tickets for the Strictly Bulleid Gala should be available to purchase online from tomorrow (Monday 23rd January) lunchtime.

I see in latest Steam Railway a 6th Bulleid may be on the cards.

Hope so, would it mean a better timetable?

Very different. Across Wareham Heath, and past the old oil terminal and Imery's private owner siding. Interesting scene and landscapes. Well worth it

Whats up with the timetable? I thought it was good with all the services going up the extension for a longer run.
