Interesting development with the roster as far as Sunday 16th is concerned. Carnforth has been very secretive about its restoration of its most clapped-out Bulleid! :)

I have taken a look at the Events page and there is no reference to Herston Works, either it is Sold out, or perhaps you were confusing Herston Works with Herston Halt which is part of the weekend.
Certainly the Bus will not be able to negotiate the lane to Herston Halt as it is far to narrow. I can only suggest you phone the SR at Swanage.
I however will be the Duty signalman at Harmans Cross on Saturday along with Fellow Signalman David Over who will be doing the narration.

Although the size of some of the caravans and motorhomes using Washpond Lane beggars belief.

Does he have to hold it in place with his head, or does he just like doing it? :)

The carriage washer brush machines are brand new replacement units paid for by the Swanage Railway Trust 200 club as the old brush machines were life expired.

At the same time the opportunity has been taken to refurbish the rest of the carriage washer including replacing the barrow crossing upon which it operates.

    Just read Wednesday's comment.
I suppose someone might have gone up to Carnforth to borrow the number/nameplates for Sunday's workings at Swanage - just to confuse a lot of enthusiasts.
Suspect typo is nearer the mark so raised with 'powers that be' for a quick renumbering of Sunday's entry - although person concerned not in the office today so might not happen in time.

Sadly no spare plates next to the loco when I passed this afternoon:(. Nice thought though.
Loco still looking good in its 1960's mode.
Hope the steam heating works, really cold walking to and from the Coop this afternoon.

It appeared to be brightening up so I went out to Afflington (in the gloom) for the 14:40 from Norden. Of course it is now full sun in Swanage. Also since the Warm Up 6 weeks ago I seem to have lost the ability to work out which way the steam will be blowing.:(
Dropped into Herston on the way back for an image of the progress on the shed. IMG_4637ps.jpg IMG_4641ps.jpg

Morning all, recent Facebook page in the comments section has confirmed that the Herston railway works open day is cancelled during this week.
The bus that was originally going to do this is now becoming the Swanage to Corfe shuttle . Which you can go for free (donation) on the bottom with a valid railway ticket

A wild stab in the dark is that it’s a service operating in the evening between the hours of half six and half eleven ;):D

Maybe a 'ghost train' to the dungeons of Corfe Castle - possible never to be seen again. ;)

An update regarding the carriage shed from the Swanage Railway Unofficial Facebook pages. <BJ>

''Latest update with carriage shed. All the roof panels are completed with only the side ones to do. Hopefully only a week or two left''.

Despite original plans other domestic things got in the way and I never got out today at all, although the weather was rubbish all afternoon anyway.
