Blimey, that's going to be a late return tonight. 46115 will only be allowed to work at 45mph on the Tender first section. It's going to be tight for paths at Southampton for the run round as well. Will this tenderfirst section require a further water stop I wonder?

Thanks for the update. I don't suppose you or anyone else knows if they're going to run just the Scot around at Southampton or if both are to run round? And I suppose the big question is why is the 33 being piloted?

Not sure what's happened to 33207 "Jim Martin" but 46115 Scots Guardsman is hauling the train tender-first from Swanage with 33207 dead-in-train. Tour is 9 Mk1's plus 46115's Support Coach and the d-i-t 33 - around 425 Tons? Good job Parkstone Bank has a dry rail today.
Train departed Swanage 18:04 (39 minutes later than Swanage Railway schedule) with Corfe Castle departure at 1823 (instead of scheduled 17:43 - i.e. 40 minutes down).
Currently watching 1Z95 on http://www.opentraintimes.com/maps/signalling/swml7 as it comes off the Swanage Branch.

If true, then 46115 will run round the train at Southampton leaving the 33 on the rear to assist with power as necessary [up Parkstone Bank, accelerating from signal and/or station stops, etc.]. 22 minutes allowed at Southampton Up Goods Loop before re-starting so, if pathing is OK, then 46115 running round should be possible I would have thought. Not sure if interim watering will be necessary but 'shoveage' from the 33 ought to help.
Incidentally, still 40 minutes down passing Hamworthy.

Figures, Brake control, AWS or OTMR were favourite.

I went to see it at Winchfield this morning. I took lots of pictures (well, it's years since I saw a Royal Scot!) and the first selection is now on Flickr. This is the first one in the Photostream if anyone would like to have a look :

Could perhaps be that the Southampton Loop stop will be extended to allow 46115 to run around the train, try to fit it in unexpectedly with the scheduled timetabled trains i wouldn't be surprised if they'd leave over an hour down

Could just carry on tender first. Would. Be in London in 2 hours at an average of 39mph and save everyone being home late. Must be plenty of available paths at this time of evening.
    Only joking of course.

Someone at Test Lane has just said its carrying on to Eastleigh to turn and then up the main line.

I don't know who his source is, nor who he was so don't shoot the messenger!

    Apologies for error.
Despite 33 power it is currently running almost 50 minutes late [approaching Millbrook]. Presumably it is having to fit in with scheduled services having lost the booked path.

It'll be interesting to see how she's routed home tonight, what with running 64 down currently (so planned into London Victoria at 23:58) but still routed around the Hounslow Loop according to RTT, which is currently shut for track repairs.
