    Don

The timetable with loco workings is currently out for proof-reading (it is a little bit more complicated than it could be due to the desire to double-head the standards for a trip), and I have expressed a desire/intention to get it available online this Sunday evening.

Just an update, there is a slight delay on getting the timetable with loco allocations ‘out there’, as I’ve not yet received any responses! So either I’ve somehow managed to avoid any typo’s or locos passing themselves first time, or it is taking a long time as there are so many issues...! Be assured that they are imminent though.

As is normal for Swanage, there will be a version of the timetable available for free with all public trains on (including freight workings) and featuring loco allocations in advance and at all booking offices.

From a ticketing point of view, I am advised that the brake van rides are now on sale, along with advance purchase rover tickets (including a discount compared to ‘pay on the day’ tickets), available in the ‘Events and Gifts’ section of the SR website. These are the first opportunity at an event like this to have a ride in the brake van of the freight working (for which we will be using the Queen Mary’s), and cost £5 per single journey (only valid when accompanied by a rover ticket). There is the added attraction for the ‘red pen’ merchants that the Up working does go into the sidings at Harmans Cross to allow to passenger trains to cross, so a little bit of rare mileage there, not to mention an unusual photographic opportunity!

Further to earlier post, timetable with loco workings now available on the SR’s Facebook page, and will be going onto the website shortly.

Thank you; I’m not so great at attaching files on here! Any issues people note, please do let me know; this is usually the point that the first typo comes to light...

34072/44871/6233 facing Swanage. 30120/31806 facing Wareham. 80078/80104 to be decided (we may end up doing a bit of turning), but it will be publicised well before the event.

No it isn't - I thought it was out of service now. I think I read somewhere that it had donated some parts to 34072

About 6 people working on it today and some of the rods are back on. Post 85 says it is on test this week, so who knows! (Apart from the SR Ops department of course!)

Do I need to wander down the station to book a brake van ride as I can not see an option for it on the gala ticket page?

I am definately with you on that Rumpole:Joyful:, dyed in the wool Southern man myself , but ever since my Hornby 3 rail days with a die-cast 6201 I was smitten with the big red'uns. So looking forward to seeing one in the flesh for the first time and, of course, your fine railway:):). Two firsts, thats good.

I'm hoping to make it to what looks like it will be a fantastic event, but I'm looking at £48+ for the whole day, which I can't really afford at the moment. Hopefully I can get down there, but the Swanage price (as with all galas now, it must be said) is a tad steep for one of limited (severely limited!) income.

Not a criticism, may I add - Swanage needs the money! I'm just regretful that I may not be able to make it.
