Does the SVR have a number of dual braked or air braked coaches? From the timetable, here seems to be at least two 'all line' and the shuttle set that air braked only locos can operate.

    Thanks

There are 2 (I think) rakes of air con/air braked coaches going for the more modern stuff

Last I heard it was 1 full line set (8 coaches), and a local set (4 coaches) being hired.

Looking at the internet file I am tempted to ask (a) what booklets / brochures are being printed for the event (b) what will they cost and (c) will any be available by post ? Whilst I would prefer to stay by the lineside given the service on the day of my visit I would like to support the event by buying the appropriate literature.

If you want to make a donation, I'm sure nobody will stop you. The rest of us are grateful to receive the information free of charge and will be visiting (and buying rovers, food and drink, maybe souvenirs) as a result.

Last year a very similar booklet to the one posted above was given out free. I suspect the same this year as I have not seen anything about there being a charge for said booklet.
I'm sure a station kiosk or buffet would welcome your custom if you decide not to travel.

Why not try ringing and asking the railway? Your better off going and asking directly rather than faff around on here.

Just thinking about the access to the diesel depot during the recent "open house" event, I think it is very unlikely you will get anywhere near the depot with a car. Pedestrian access is by a footway from the far end of the car park, and under the long footbridge. Further, unless you get there at the crack of dawn you may well not even get into the SVR car park.
From memory I think there are a small number of disabled parking bays on the right as you enter the SVR car park, but the diesel depot is a good distance from there.

As Matt says, ring the SVR at Comberton Place and ask. See what they suggest. ( 01562 757900)

73965 has failed and won't take any further part in the gala. 88003 will not be out on Saturday due to 'issues beyond the SVR's control'.

Indeed, 50008 gave quite a heavy shove from the rear. 88003 caught us out as it was very quiet, so quiet I wondered if it was giving any power whatsoever? It didn't spoil my day though... another 88 for me to tick off my list!
