A few years back out of the blue I had a letter* forwarded to me via the SVR, offering to buy this loco off me. I politely replied that I didn’t own it.

    *what’s a letter grandad?

I would have sold it to them anyway.

    I do own a 14xx based in Worcestershire…
It just so happens to be 76 times smaller than the real thing though.

Especially when they're driven into a truck and Steam Roller or taken for a joy ride by some drunks!

Only had 1 experience of 1450 so far at Didcot, so good to see the loco being worked on.

43106 vice 7174 today and tomorrow. 43106 is being used sparingly due to mechanical wear.

From SVR Live, 43106 is currently rostered for this weekend (29 April to 1 May) plus 4, 7 and 8 May, so I'm glad to see it's still out and about. 7714 is rostered for 5-6 and 11-12 May.

From the latest EMF newsletter. Large Prairie 5164 (currently on display at Barrow Hill Roundhouse) has been invited to appear as this year's guest exhibit at the Warley Model Railway Exhibition at the NEC on 25-26 November. The EMF will use this as an effective way of returning the locomotive closer to home ahead of its overhaul actively commencing once 7802 returns to steam.

43106 has a boiler extension until (I think) January 2024. It's on reserve or light duties due to its general condition.

I've seen an image of cladding going onto 13268's boiler

2968's boiler passed its steam test on 19 June and there is now a determined effort to complete the engine a.s.a.p.
