    Does anyone know which locos are likely to be in service this weekend at the GCR or SVR ?

    I have recently found http://forum.svra.org.uk/. Excellent source of gen and good to see the Stanier is back already! GC Yahoo Group - link on website usually has engine gen on. Just need to know what the coach set s are...

    Agreed, and the online news section of the SVRA forum here: http://forum.svra.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=14
    also has a weekly traffic news update, giving details of which rakes of coaches are intended for each diagram etc...

    Yes, the online news section of the SVRA forum is excellent. I made an extra unplanned visit to the SVR a couple of weeks ago after reading in "Online News" that FIVE locos would be in service (normally three at this time of year, but both Manors were replaced by Prairies during the day) - so there's a bit of revenue that the SVR gained through making this sort of info available. Much better than the past when you would ring the published phone number and ask what locos were working that day and be told "I think it's a Pannier".

    Just for the record, locos in use yesterday on the GCR were the 8F, the GW Prairie, and D123.
    A group of Dutch enthusiasts who run their own heritage line were visiting the GCR, and how nice to see a chalked notice board welcoming the Dutch enthusiasts, written in their own language.

    Little touches like that just make the difference.
