    As if you need any more excuses to be at the gala.

    I've just noticed on the SVR website that Pete Waterman (pop mogul/loco owner) is to visit on the saturday to sign copies of his new model railway book 'Just Like the Real Thing'

    More details here

    Alrite Andy, its the way they are currently facing and the way they should be facing for the gala!!! At the moment 42968 is facing North and i imagine should be staying that way!!!

    Heres a good question, will the engine house be doing their own weekend "rover" again this year?! Came in handy last year.

    41241 has had a full repaint into BR Lined Late Black, so not only will she shine, she will match both 46443 and 43106! Going to be a good gala, I'm looking forward to it for sure!

    Looking forward to next weekend I'll be there on Frday and Saturday.

    Can anyone confirm that the shed / workshop will be open to look around on one of the days? I understand 56xx class 6634 is being restored there?

    Cheers in advance

    If you look on the SVR site, in the 'download information' bit of the autumn steam gala section on the special events page, you will find the opening times for the shed/workshops.

    Thanks to JBTEvans and to Pete Thornhill for the info. I knew I'd seen it somewhere but was having difficulty getting onto the SVR site late on Sat & Sunday nights.
    Thanks once again.

    To add to that here is a breakdown of the set codes ( if a set has been split they carry a letter suffix eg M(a)

    The list goes (based on the regular sets)

    L = LMS
    M = Maroon Mk1
    C = Carmine & Cream Mk1
    N = LNER Teaks
    S = GWR Dining set - "The Severn Valley Limited" (also conveys non dining seats)
    GW2 - Second GWR set
    VV - "Severn Valley Venturer" Dining Set (RB + FO) This usually runs attached to a service set.

    I'm really looking forward to this, especially so as the weather seems set to be good over the weekend!
