I suppose it depends on your budget.

The first time I visited the Llangollen Railway I wasn't too sure where to stay. I found the campsite at Carrog an ideal base enabling me to venture a little in to the heart of Wales. Under canvas can be great fun and I am sure you will be not alone judging by the initial feedback.

For B&B's etc. I would recommend contacting the Tourist Information Office in Llangollen.

    Address:
    Y Chapel
    Castle Street

    email: llangollen (at) nwtic.com

There is also the http://www.llangollen.org.uk website for general info on Llangollen.

My Grandfather, Father and I had a decent guesthouse not far from Froncysyllte. It was about five miles from Llangollen, and we went there late afternoon, only to return to Llnagollen for some late night running! It was magic!

Will the Southern Railway have a token representative at the gala in the mystery twelfth engine? It would certainly be a big four plus br event, then! Keep up the good work!

Just studied the line-up and it would be superb if Repton could be the twelfth loco. This would make it a Big Four & BR line-up and also FOUR 4-4-0's.

Repton would be good, as although I've seen it, I have not had a ride. To be honest, even if it's a Terrier, I'd be happy, not that I'm unhappy with the already cracking line-up, which means I get to experience a D49 without breaking the bank...

You will have to wait and see what we have planned. We have a few options, as we are also planning reserve locos incase any of the others become unavailable like last time where we had 44806 miss out.

All I can say is watch this space!

Well this looks fantastic, I'll be there for sure, regardless of whether the free ticket promised in 2007 still stands!

Is the thought of running a Talyllyn Railway AGM special still going ahead?

I will probably be able to answer that question next week.
It is still something we would like to do and Lil Bear has said he has timetabled it.

Just need some more info before confirming! :-#

There's still a lot of classified information on the gala that hasn't been released yet. Be patient and all will be revealed.

Still 7 months away and already ticket sales have started arriving, all be it only half a dozen. Is promising though.

12th loco still being negotiated for, hopefully be able to release details though in the next month or so. We have seen SR however that is only an idea that has been put forward.

However a question for you all. Those of you who have seen the leaflet will see that there is a film show both Tuesday & Wednesday night. Thursday night we are also hoping to do a evening photo shoot (better than last time), but at the moment we have nothing planned Monday night.

Who would be interested in us running a larger freight train than the weekend one to Carrog and back (inc brake van rides), dep Llangollen around 19.00? If not is there anything else anyone can think of they would like to see? All suggestions will be considered.

I was handed a leaflet by someone at the SVR Gala last saturday and it looks to be shaping to be an even better event than the 2007 event. I'll definetly be attending the 4-4-0 day on the Thursday as well as both Saturdays.

I was distributing SSS2 leaflets on the Sunday of the Gala. There was definately a lot of interest shown. Unfortunately I only had the one box of leaflets on me.
