There is to be a 6880 meeting towards the end of the year. Shall have to await what emerges from that, but there is interest in doing another SSS event at Llangollen Rly.

Dod the first two SSS events raise much money, I assume they did if you're thinking of running another? I'm genuinely interested to know, I have no axe to grind.

I definitely like the idea of another one too!

I'm guessing you mean 'did'. Yes, both galas made a profit for us, with the combined total profit being into 6 figures after the inclusion of Gift Aid. Monies are also still being raised through the sale of both DVD's for the SSS events.

Another SSS would give me an excuse for an extended vacation from work and visit to the UK and Llangollen in particular, never a bad thing IMHO!!!

I greatly enjoyed my time at SSS2, and would definitely be back to both volunteer and passenger/photograph a SSS3.

You'd be welcomed back anyday Steve. I see your name appears in the 6880 newsletter this time! Nice to have you onboard. Hopefully any SSS3 event will be just as good as the first two.

It sounds like i will have a family wedding to attend in the UK in 2011 which will hopefully get me back over, just not sure when in the year and where they are going to do it (England or Northern Ireland), if that comes to pass hopefully i can make an appearance then for a visit in Llangollen. My Girlfriend is desperate to get over to visit her family in Scotland, so hopefully an extended family/railway trip can be arranged!

As for 6880 and the potential of an SSS3, i will do anything i can to help out, given my distance it obviously rules out a lot of direct activity, but there are lots of opportunities for internet and other promotion and helping in the thought process/etc even from afar!

I am certain that any future SSS event will be better than the first ones, you have all learned a lot about event planning, and from what i saw last year, are more than capable of running an outstanding event!

Think we are a bit late for a gala in 2011, especially as Llangollen are planning a Cambrian Gala for April '11. We will more than likely do something April 2012.

    How about a centenarians theme - 2807, 30120, 30585/7, 3717, FR20, Caley 828, an A1X etc etc?

We already have our own ideas, though that isn't to say we will ignore all suggestions. We didn't make the last 2 successful by ignoring enthusiasts!
