I have finally go round to posting, too busy sorting out my photo's from all nine days of the gala. Travelled on 8 of the days.Throughly enjoyed myself. Highlights for me were :
The Freight behind Morayshire on the morning of the first Sunday.
The Monday night freight run behind 9017 and 5526. The Tuesday evening train behind Morayshire.5643 & 5199 - on the Friday - a superb run up the line.Mayflower on the Saturday morning, on wet rails, with 7 on.
and last, but not least the " Beer Festival"

Thanks to the organisers and all the volunteers for a superb gala.

A small selection of my photo's can be found at http://paul-simpson.fotopic.net/c1690077.html

I too can only thank Mark for his efforts. Despite being up all day with 6100 he still worked into the early hours to make sure she could work on the final sunday. Without his commitment to get 6100 fixed I doubt we would of seen her run for that last day.

    Shock... :-#[/quote:3rgxpidk]

Nice open cab, great for sun bathing on the return journey from carrog on a hot summers day, Truro is the same, managed to catch some rays whilst on that :smt003 :smt003[/quote:3rgxpidk]
Are we 100% sure this is Mr Johnson posting ? If so he's just made 2 posts saying he likes GWR locos. We've converted him! \:D/[/quote:3rgxpidk]

Now Now don't get carried away, =; I didn't say all GWR locos, and I'd be absolutely cursing the pair of them if it rained. You didn't hear the expletives coming off the dukedog on the saturday afternoon when it did rain, and we were only sat behind carrog signalbox at the time :smt003

Most drivers would of looked in the toolbox and put the stormsheet up

9017 does carry one as I used on a photocharter

Maybe you got wet so you could have snipe at western locos

    Errr......in front of a computer?
Had a lovely time at the gala with Mayflower, got to meet many friends old and new. The whole event was exceptional and I can only hope the Grange boys are as happy with the results as the passengers and photographers seemed to be!

One suggestion, would it be worth the group making a plea for people to send in photos, and a commemorative book being published. You have the contacts that made the brochure, if people donated their photos for free, and the book was sold at galas etc over the next year..... another money making scheme perhaps? If you can find 40 more images like the one below you'll be laughing....

A very friendly railway, great scenery, nice beer and once Will and Co have recovered, I look forward to SS&S3 (and 4,5,6,7,8.)

Just found this. A chime whistle on a B1 indeed...... Enjoy!

Just been discussing this very idea with another of our Directors. A similar format to the brochure taking the best of all the photo collections and available in time for Xmas gifts!

No they were on the 9017/5199 doubleheader. Just I was rostered cleaner on 6100 and as 9017/5199 were on the WHHR train I said I'd put the NP headboard on so they could see it from their train.

I had two fantastic days travelling up and down the line and if a brochure goes ahead would be only too happy to donate any of my photos to be used to help raise more funds. [see Goldsteam on the Flickr web site = http://www.flickr.com/photos/goldsteam/ ... 317361736/]

Hmmm, half were on there, the other half was at Llan with another partner in crime demonstrating their vocal skills after a few pints of Batemans....... And to think the booked singer seemed to have genuinely not heard of half the versions we were singing \:D/
