Just in case anyone misses it, there is a sealed bid auction for a footplate ride for one person in the cavalcade. Also included for the winner is two 9-day tickets and access to the Beavertail observation car.

This will be the best 'seat' in the show.

Proceeds go towards building Betton Grange.

Details are in the latest Steam Railway magazine.

So, the worst kept secret is confirmed -- Royal Scot 6100 will be at the gala. Well done to the organisers =D>
Let's all hope the gala is a success.

Unfortunately the press never let the facts get in the way of a good story I have never believed that I should state that 6100 Royal Scot will be at SSSII until I have full confirmation from Bressingham and LNWR Crewe

As of right now it is 99% gong to happen and as I like hard facts you will have to wait until wedneday night unti I can print its all systems go

Meanwhile 1306 Mayflower is arriving on Tuesday Wednesday this week pics will follow

At this moment in time with 6100 we are looking at a total of TEN trucks in to Llangollen yard over a period of 2days its going to be entertaing to say the least and the neighbours are going to love us

This makes no difference to me being that I am from Pembrokeshire, and that I already have my ticket, but do you offer the local people of Llangollen slightly more discounted tickets to make up for any inconvenience caused by 'the noise'? This is no indictment upon the event, but its always a good idea to keep the neighbours sweet so that the railway can continue staging these fantastic events.

    Magic!
A quick glimpse and it nearly fooled me! If only 7822 or 78xx could have joined 9017. Something for another day perhaps.

    Cheers,

    Paul

    It's time for another announcement.
another photo shoot is being done details below:

    Thursday Night Shed Shoot
    Location: Llangollen Shed
    Time: 18:00 - 00:00
    Price: £15
Itinerary: We have kindly had some lights made available, enabling us to run another shed shoot, which will hopefully run smoother than last time. The main show piece will be the pairing of 7822 Foxcote Manor with visiting Dukedog 9017 now painted in BR Black. However with a total of 10 engines on shed including 3440 City of Truro, 246 Morayshire and hopefully 6100 Royal Scot (subject to repairs), there will be plenty to choose from.

With 7822 currently being out of ticket, this will be the only official pairing of these 2 locomotives in the shed yard, as 7822 is presently stored inside the shed normally but is being brought outside specially for this side-show of Steel, Steam & Stars 2.

The price is £15, and is on a first come first serve basis with a maximum limit of 35 people only. We cannot have anymore due to the size of Llangollen Yard sadly. Also due to safety reasons OVER 16s ONLY are permitted on this charter.

For those of you planning to be on this charter, there maybe a special one-off as well for you. More details once we have everything confirmed.

As per the freight cruise please PM me if you are interested or email me at Dogbert2atHotmail.co.uk. Be sure to indicate which photo shoot you wish to be on.

On another note there are still a few places left on the Monday night freight cruise photo charter if anyone wants to sign up.

I know you chaps are going to be rushed off your feet, but do I need to go into 'panic mode' yet because my tickets haven't arrived ?

I'm sorry if this has been covered earlier in this thread, but, what size envelope and how much postage needs to be applied if applying for advance tickets and a loco diagram brochure on the SAE ?
