It's worth mentioning that size matters in this discussion. Aside from the practical difficulties in moving locomotives around the country it should be noted that shifting from rail to road is not without risk, irrespective of the care taken by hauliers. That risk increases as you move from an 0-6-0 to a 4-6-2. So any road move is not a decision taken lightly.

It was on display in Darlington's North Road Museum for some years in the late '70s/early '80s

Similarly I recall draging 76079 and 45428 to Pickering en route to Ilford for tyre turning in March 2011.

75027 went by road to a private charter at Goodwood in late 2021. So that can come off the list

I'm reasonably certain that, LT aside, none of the FR double Fairlies have moved by road, but Taliesin visited the WHR some 9 years before it was possible by rail. Blanche has indeed visited the L&B in recent years, but even before that was transferred to the FR from Penrhyn by road, unlike Linda.

As a point of order the surviving Fairburns are both BR built examples; neither carried LMS numbers in service (well, not until the era of fictitious liveries in early preservation anyway).

Many years ago I worked with a chap who was involved with 70000 and he always insisted it would never go anywhere on a low loader. Not knowing its early preservation movements nor what has happened since LSL acquired it, is this a candidate?

No, as recently as last year it arrived at Kidderminster on the back of a lorry for running in.

Thanks, I knew it had been to the SVR recently but was unaware of how it got there.

Believe both Fairburns spent time at the GCR, so that removes 42073

42085 has also been to the Bluebell and to the NRM at York. I do not think that 42073 has ever left the L&HR since it arrived there in 1971.
