I would have also thought Don it will need an element of running in at Swanage (when it does come out of the works) before a main line trip (even with an assisting loco) as SWR are perfectly capable of screwing up the Weymouth line on their own without any assistance for main line steam tour.

    Stunning!

I've just GOT to make the 600+ return trip up to the S&C one of these days! Beside the attraction of the trains themselves, I'd also love to meet some of the regular posters on this forum who live in the north. I really appreciate your pictures, videos and general banter. Please keep up the good work, Gentlemen!

Let's hope the Dalesman continues next year. If so, it's possible to do on some Tuesdays

    Kings Cross 0703
    Leeds dep 1009
    Leeds arr 2018
    Leeds dep 2045
    KGX 2300

Maybe a works outing could be organised--- see @Oswald T Wistle excellent resume on the Dalesman thread.

Possibly D6515 might be called upon to haul the train from Swanage to Southampton Central or West Coast might leave their diesel on the back leaving the Q path unused. Time will tell.

Interesting that the cover of the new hard copy brochure that arrived today has Mayflower double heading in the snow with British India Line, which was of course an RTC tour!

That’s because it’s an RTC brochure

Clearly says Steam Dreams Don, and whilst I accept this was Mayflower's first run back it seems strange to use a competitors tour on the front of your brochure, not so uncommon for pictures inside tour brochures. Still at least the headboard is better than the Steam Dreams one.
Unless of course you have an inside track on RTC buying them out?

RTC have used photos of SD's Green Train in their brochure, while a photo of Royal Scot with the SVR's Blood and Custard set approaching Foley Park Tunnel is used by Saphos.
Edit Green Train in Latest RTC brochure and on website https://www.railwaytouring.net/uk-day-trips/the-ludlow-medieval-christmas-fayre
