The Prince's Trust advertised some time ago a dining special from Edinburgh and back over the Forth Bridge for Tues 23 June evening, originally hauled by 60009 with the British Pullman set. RTT shows it crossing at 23.30. Does anyone know if it is now 'Tornado'? ECS move off Millerhill in time for departure.

A quick two from last night, the first of No. 60163 'Tornado' silhouetted against the evening sun on Larbert Viaduct, River Carron :

The second, from the impressive fireworks display down on the Forth celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Forth Bridge:

I have a third photo yet to edit, but feel it's too much of a standard full sun 3/4 shot to add effect to the evening's efforts now!

There's only one thing to say to you Jonathon, and that's keep up the good work - you're an excellent photographer young man.

Excellent photography Jonathan; post the other photo, it may be a boggo 3/4 shot, but it will be a foil for the two photos above and any photo of mainline steam in Scotland is very welcome - I, for one would love to see it.

    Cheers

Lovely stuff, chaps, especially Jonathan! I think your use of "iconic" for The Forth Bridge is deserved (though it's such an over-used word these days). The shape of the bridge is instantly recognisable, and now that all the cladding has gone, the floodlights show it to great advantage.
