Perhaps it is the private premises where 2253 is to be taken from NYMR which I think Steven referred to?

Peter Best, who now owns 2253 again, has premises in the Cirencester area where 4277 was overhauled before its sale to the Torbay Railway, so I would imagine that it will go there in due course.

    So2015 could see FOUR S160s in steam (5197 / 6046 / 5820 / 3278).

Wonder if the interest is there for them all to operate at a gala? CVR 25th anniversary is 2017, and we have a rather nice bank to let them work a little (plus we would only need to pay for 4x lorries compared to 6/8!)

Given that this year sees the 70th anniversary of D-Day I'd say the major celebrations will be this year. Nothing stopping somebody marking the 71st though.

And perhaps if a certain project comes to fruition you won't ever need to rent that many!

I heard 3278 was seen near Eastleigh going north on the M3.

In the meantime, it is planned to go on public display at a certain museum....... Work progresses well with its cosmetic facelift.

Well, I've not seen anything official 'in print' so I didn't want to spill the beans, in case I spoilt things.

An S160 certainly belongs at the NRM given its history and the events of the next few years relating to why they are huge in British, American and European history.
How many S160's where stored in the UK prior to D-Day, and how many locomotives overall were exported from the UK to France following D-Day ? (I've never found many pictures of this, but surely it must count as one of the larger locomotive movements in British history ?)

Long Marston is still connected to the national rail network joining from the north at Honeybourne (one the GWSR will hopefully join from the south :) )
