The LNERCA are providing shed tours of their workshop in the Atkins building at Pickering throughout September - come along to see progress in particular on ECJS 189, one of, if not the, earliest dining cars in preservation, with its sumptous teak interior and gold-leaf-enhanced lincrusta ceiling! The tours are free but places must be pre-booked. See https://www.nymr.co.uk/event/lnerca-atkins-building-tour for further information.

.... and as 189 is to be the star of these tours, design and prototyping of the intricate "gasoliers" is progressing steadily and no doubt will be discussed and viewable in the course of the tours - see https://www.facebook.com/LNERCA/photos/pcb.5637711182914966/5638164809536270/ for further info on progress on these elaborate and distinctive fittings. They are worthy of a visit in their own right!
