Let's not get into an authenticity debate: 777, 850, 70000 and Met 1 are the visitors, end of. SO lets enjoy it! Congratulations go to Duncan Ballard for the eclectic mix of locomotives, cannot wait to see 777....if only I cold get it on a Footplate Experience!

Is it still confirmed that 5029 Nunney Castle will be outbased at the SVR during the time she is not on tour? Is she doing a tour at the same time as the SVR gala, or could she possibly be added to the line up as a home based loco? That would certainly be a nice addition.

Hope the front end on 777 has been tightened up a little.... impossible to get a nice shot with all that steam escaping around the front wheels and cylinders

Excellent, hopefully a greater level of variety than last year's monotonous gala.

One idea I was wondering about, could the Goods be used more during the day between BY and KR?
Have it shunted about at BY during the day, and then go off in various formations for a round trip (all the vans for one trip, all the flats, then just 1/2 wagons) before putting them altogether for the evening outings? 2010 use of the Goods was absolutely fantastic, the consist seemed to change everytime I saw it and was slightly disappointed it hasn't been repeated since.

Just a thought, not sure about the practicalities of it though so it might not be that feasible.

Why not use the junction yard at Bewdley to stable goods wagons then work freight from Bewdley to Highley as needed and use one of the shunters to shunt consists whilst train loco either pilots to Kidder or goes onto the stabling point for stabling / Thunderbird duties. Apart from possibly freeing up paths at Kidder it could offer some "constant" activity at Bewdley and possible interchange with the passenger shuttles to Highley.

The 2010 WTT was great, would be great if they did something very similar again, but please nothing like 2011!

Getting 5029 to SVR might be possible unless she is utilized for September 29th Royal Duchy. I'm just guessing, things can change though.

King Arthurs were used a lot on cross-country workings, more so than the Lord Nelsons, I think. I've seen pictures of N15s at both Banbury and Oxford, for example. 850 or 777 on the Teaks, the GW or the LMS set will be a pretty good recreation of these trains. I wonder if they will face the same way? It would be nice to sit somewhere like Eardington Bank and watch successive trains hauled by 850 and 777 up the gradient.

Question marks over 70000's attendance, we'll keep our fingers crossed about it, but a replacement will be sought if it isn't coming. I've heard more rumours of 30053 coming but nothing definite yet.
Met 1 is to be pulling met coach 353 over the 3 days between Bridgnorth and Hampton Loade, and there will be a surcharge of £5 to travel behind it (this is presumably to help pay for the coach)

No surcharge to travel behind Met 1, the surcharge is to travel in 353 only, there will be other coaches (2 to be precise - same as every other BH - HL local at the ASG) for which there will be no additional supplement payable. Just thought I would make that clear as the way you have worded the your post could be read as travel behind Met 1 will attract an additional fee when it is the chance to travel in 353 that does (and well worth the money I say!)

Thank you, I missed the final sentence of the paragraph on the SVR special events page. I though Met 1 could pull more than one coach
In a way it's shame that it's only BH-HL, I probably won't have much chance of riding behind it.

What chance 46115 from WCRC ? I'm sure there are many unable to come up north who might venture to the SVR for such a guest !

Im sure we all would like that. But Carnforth locos only very rarely work on preserved lines if at all.The last I can recall was 5972 at G&WR a few years ago.Expect someone will correct me if there has been another more recent.

Wcrc have always maintained a no heritage railway approach to their locos. My money is on another J Hoskings loco. Ie 34046 or 5029.
