That sounds a bit like something from a old BR rule book !

RTC may not be involved in the SSEs themselves but my response to 46236's original post citing RTC's alternative way of doing things in response to his welcoming of the fact an SSE is planned to run in term time as it would mean a "quieter" journey for him is still a valid point to make in the context of the SSEs themselves I'd say.

hey, I am not adverse to families and kids in particular, there are plenty of tours run in term time, usually almost full of ladies having a dining day out. If I wanted a quiet run i could go on the early season ones.

I got off at York and thought I heard someone say the '5' was going to Holgate sidings whilst noticing the 37 had moved.
Some fantastic runs today though even back to the York water stop.

    Went on spec this morning.
It was meant to be a 5 but apparently it ran a hot box last night and was substituted by "Scots Guardsman" for todays run.

Did the evening circle yesterday and have to say what a performance :) A good fast run to Castleford, an awesome blast from Wakefield Westgate to Ardsley Tunnel and a good fast run from Church Fenton to York. Well done 'Scots Guardsman' especially now they've got rid of that horrible hiss it's had for a while :)

Lineside rumour mill whilst doing the K4 on the Fellsman this morning, was that 48151 is on it's way to York to help out, and probably on the Waverley Sunday as well.
