#Stuart Reeder, contact Alf Roberts who is the life President of the up and coming Luton to Dunstable line preservation scheme. He is a multiple unit expert and particularly good at stripping asbestos. The 3CIG will fit in well on that scheme. Alternatively the Rememberance Line would be another alternative. Their engineering capability is excellent.

There's also a group of long-experienced railway trustees in Somerset looking for a new venture if you are short of people to serve on the committee...

And they will need a bank balance of about £600,000 to restore these three coaches.

That's three schemes we've suggested now; one coach for each... :wacky:

And, even once it was restored and operational, it quickly fell into disuse needing only very minor repairs and was sold as soon as a decent offer popped up, with at least one car going for scrap. Which is probably what will happen to this unit if the present owner sells it to this lot.

I know owners of a few carriages and most of them earn £0/mile, usually after an investment of a few tens of thousands to put them into good order.

this group is run by a Steve smith who was part of my group back in may 2015 who decided to make someone a admin to remove me and a few others as admins then closed down the page and he then started this group (link above) My Group is the official original group and if they are the owners of the unit why is it still up for sale ?

Squabbles over who is admin of a Facebook page? Makes the WSRA thing seem petty by comparison.

Personally, I wouldn't publicise my arguments with people as it doesn't give others much/any confidence in the project.

Let us just remember that the less important the argument, the more effort is devoted to it...

This childish (and public) squabbling between Stuart and his erstwhile playmates only re-inforces the view, by many on here, that none of his schemes could ever be taken seriously.

Oh that's brilliant, two groups both arguing over who's the real one, both wishing to save something not many people care, about in a ridiculous fashion! This place just wouldn't be the same without the likes of Stuart Reeder, Alf Roberts etc. Speaking of which, we haven't heard from him in a while - I heard he's planning a consortium between the Luton dog kennel railway, the Weymouth road train and s@a!lb£@ch... :D

I heard a rumour that Alf Roberts had written to Boris Johnson suggesting that Crossrail2 should connect Luton-Dunstable with Cranleigh in Surrey. Will the 3CIG be made available to TfL as rolling stock in that case?:eek::Bucktooth::Locktopic::Mask::Shy::Sorry::):Wacky:

Santayana? Didn't he become an overnight sensation at Woodstock? Something about "he who can't remember the past is probably off his t*ts on mescalin" I seem to (hazily) recall...

So is this the People's Front of 3CIG or the 3CIG People's Front?

I wonder how the respective fund raising totals are going - perhaps they will be bidding against each other?
