I didn't think I was being cryptic at all. I'd take it on myself, but as I doubt I would be in a position to even start the project any time in the next 10 years, I had better not!

It isn't, though. Origin is as stated above. Body added at Eastleigh, 1962.

The coal wagon looked much nicer, in my opinion.

Renishaw now touched down at Aln Valley. Is there work for all the working locomotives there? There's Wood's Austerity, Jessie and Richboro already on site.

Richboro is only lightly used - something to do with its condition/capability though I’m not clear exactly what as they only run 2-coach trains. But it does seem odd to have 4 tank engines of that size on a railway of that length… Jennifer and 60 both have a fair few years left on their tickets so it isn’t that either. Potentially one going out on a season loan?

Renishaw has just changed hands and it’s the decision of the owners to base it at the Aln Valley but presumably the railway feels it can offer enough work.

Not quite sure why the previous 5 posts are in the "For Sale" section??
However our Steam Heat van has arrived at Rothley for its wheel exchange..(..Its doors have been temporarily removed for its transit from Quorn). Anyway this will be "For Sale" .

"Deemed too off region for the collection and offered for disposal into further preservation only."

So I assume all the non SR (or its forerunners) locos will be disposed of as well then?
Goodbye to the 9F the Dukedog and the NLR tank then?:(

That or they have enough Brake Vans as it is, and this one is the most disposable, so they'd rather see it put to use somewhere where it'll be used/appreciated.

The Dukedog has a clause in its bequest that it remains at the Bluebell; and the NLR tank (which has just moved to go on display at Sheffield Park, by the way) has a strong preservation-era connection to the line.

I think for the brake van, it is just being pragmatic about what it is realistic to overhaul in a reasonable time frame. The Goods Division want to do a pre-grouping brake van, but given our loco and wagon collection, in which order would you put the available candidates: an SECR Dance Hall; a LSWR Road Van and a GWR toad? The Toad is always going to come last in priorities - so better to let another group take it on.

It was a bit tongue in cheek, although I can think of at least one individual on the email group that would actually support that view.

I see on the Bluebell's Facebook page that Pullman Car Carina is once again up for sale. I think Trackside a did a story about it being bought by someone a little while back, but presumably something must have happened with that.

Yes, the sale fell through, because the intended purchaser couldn't find anywhere to move it to.

Although up for sale for a while, for completeness I will add the link for unique Thompson Gangwayed Brake for sale at the North Norfolk Railway - which really needs a home as it is the only item that is unique in the current clear out:
